Saturday Morning

Been a pretty hectic few days. Managed to squeeze some gaming in and hopefully we are now back on track with the regular sessions.

Thursday night saw us playing Call of Cthulhu again. The party finally made it over the Mountains of Madness without a single one of them going too crazy, though there was an incident with Fred (AKA "Ape") which has set up an interesting situation that could lead to the death of the entire party if the correct buttons are pushed. I have to say that I still doubt that the party will see the end of the game as I think the SAN loss early on has been very harsh on a couple of them and even the characters who had decent SAN to start have been worn away quite a bit. This one is up for the Patrons as always and I will be putting something up for the main site some point soon. I think we might be due some more Seabeast or some more Accordlands to try and catch the main site up with the Patrons a wee bit.

Lindsay and I drove up the College Station yesterday to attend a friend's graduation. We had never been to an American graduation before but it was pretty similar to the ones I have attended only much much bigger. Lindsay has some photos over on How To Be A Vintage Goddess if you guys want to look. Sadly there was very little cap throwing at the end, unlike the movies. Before the graduation we went to a place called Snook to have something to eat. We ended up in a place called Steak House. Taking my lead from the name of the place I ordered an extra small sirloin and when it landed it was about as big as my head. We were also introduced to the wonder that is Chicken Fried Bacon. Essentially it is a heart attack on a plate with white pepper gravy. The steak, however, was lovely and extremely inexpensive, though I would worry about ordering the extra large and you might be able to live under it.

The graduation was great. Colin is a roleplayer and had some gaming buddies attending and we got to chat about games and the like, which was nice. Lindsay and I are trying to attract him down here for a one off or two sometime in the near future. I have some great indie games that really need an airing.

So, currently I am sat monitoring the activities of Ruby the pupster while Lindsay takes a shower. We are playing Rolemaster at 3pm today to try and not miss a session as it is US Mother's Day tomorrow. I am not sure what I will do with the party as yet. I think it depends on whether they decide to head to the bandits lair or drive on to Lethys. If they go to Lethys I think I might introduce the seeds of the Grand Campaign and see if they bite. I am not planning on running it as a linear game. I am hoping to get them embroiled in many a side plot along the way. If things go well today we might get a double session in, but we also may not. Either way it should be pretty decent. I love running Rolemaster, I think it is such a natural system to play. It helps that I have a decent handle on the rules and am confident enough to make changes as I need as we go along.

I think the party still need introducing to combat with a monster and combat against a caster and then they might actually be good to go with regards to Rolemaster. Obviously I could then drop in all kinds of optional rules but that would just be mean! Right, I am off to boil the kettle and look at getting the room set up for this afternoon and maybe setting off an audio to process.
